CPI(ML) Condemns Demolition of Houses of Poor

On 20 November, the administration of Naitand (Jharkhand) demolished houses of poor in the pretext of encroachment. Several poor have been displaced due to this. It may be noted that none of these houses had been built by encroaching road or government building. The displaced are now forced to spend the cold winter nights under thin tents that can barely contain the winds. CPI(ML) has strongly condemned the demolition. A CPI(ML) team led by Rajesh Yadav met the affected people. This insensitive act has exposed the anti-poor nature of the BJP government in the state.  The affected people decided to start a hunger strike from 27 November demanding accommodation. CPI(ML) has declared support to the people’s protest and demanded that they be rehabilitated and given adequate compensation. An indefinite dera-dalo movement has started at Bengabad block office in Giridih district.
