Murderous Attack on CPI(ML) Activist by Feudals in Beguserai

Feudal criminal forces once again perpetrated an attack in Maksudanpur Diyara of Ballia region in Beguserai district. Sanju Ram, brother of Mahesh Ram, an eyewitness in the Mahesh Ram-Rampravesh Ram murders was brutally attacked on 26 April 2017. Sanju Ram was on his way to Ballia from his home when he was fired upon many times at around 4.30 PM. Four bullets hit his body but he managed to run and take refuge in a house in Mir Alipur village and thus save his life. After first aid in the Ballia Primary Health Centre he was brought to the Beguserai Hospital where he was given blood transfusion and the bullets were removed from his body.

A protest march was taken out on 27 April against the attack on Sanju Ram. A Ballia bandh and ‘chakka jam’ in the district was organized on 29 April. NH 31 was blockaded from 9 AM to 12 noon, led by CPI (ML) and AIARLA leaders. Addressing the meeting at the blockade District Secretary Com Diwakar and other leaders said that the feudal criminals killed Rampravesh Ram and Mahesh Ram on 21 March with the aim of evicting the poor from their land; but when they failed in this aim they fired upon eyewitnesses to create fear in them. Now if the administration fails to arrest the culprits in the killing of Mahesh Ram and Rampravesh Ram and the attack on Sanju Ram, the people would give a fitting reply through people’s protests. The speakers made the following demands: compensation to the injured Sanju Ram; guarantee of safety to the poor, especially to Mahesh Ram’s family; full cost of Sanju Ram’s treatment to be borne by the government.

In Ballia Party Block Secretary Com. Noor Alam led a rally from the Party office, through the bazaar culminating at the Station Chowk where the NH 31 was blockaded. After the chakka-jam a case has been registered and one accused person has been arrested.
