Comrade Khudan Mallick

Naxalbari movement’s legendary leader comrade Khudan Mallick died on 29 November in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital where he was admitted after a lung infection.

A very popular peasant organiser, he was also in the CPI(ML)’s delegation which visited China in September 1967.

Com. Motilal Ram

Com Motilal Ram, hailing from Lukaiya Tola in Chumba village, Mandu Block (Ramgarh District) passed away due to brain hemorrhage on 26 November 2017. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. He was 59 years old. He was associated with the Liberation group from the days of the 1970s movement. Chumba village with a population of 5,000 was in the clutches of feudal repression against which Com Jayant Ganguly had mobilized dalits, adivasis and the poor. Com Motilal Ram joined the movement mobilized by Com Jayant Ganguly. Later Jayant Ganguly and his comrades joined the CPI (ML). Com Motilal became a member of the Party in 1981 and was a dedicated activist in the Chumba Branch local committee. He played an important role in the recent Ranchi Rally on 11 November 2017. Tributes were paid to him at his village Chumba and the Ramgarh District Party Office by his comrades and activists led by Bhuneshwar Bediya.
