Cadre Convention in Garhwa

The CPI (ML) organized a Division level cadre convention in Palamu on 18 July 2017. Party General Secretary Com. Dipankar Bhattacharya was the chief guest at the convention. Addressing the cadre convention Com. Dipankar said that it looks as if Palamu Division has gone back 30 years in time. In fact, this is what people feel about most parts of the country. The BJP government, wherever it is in power, is acting like an uncontrolled, unchecked government. This government has no concern for the people; it is not even bothered about the Supreme Court. It is not heeding the SC directives on the Aadhar issue. After the attack on the Amarnath Yatris Rajnath Singh praised ‘Kashmiriyat’, after which he received a spate of criticism on social media. This is an indication of an anarchist and unbridled attitude that is being nurtured in society and in the country. There have been disturbing and untoward incidents in the country, including mob lynchings. Farmers, dalits, and youth across the country are struggling for justice, peace and democracy. The CPI (ML) stands in solidarity and support of these struggles. In these circumstances, the need is to have hope and positivity and also build and strengthen the organization. The 10th Party General Session is to be held in Punjab from 23 to 28 March; we must convert this into a General Session of people’s protest against autocracy. Com Dipankar said that if the country can have one single tax, why cannot we have one single loan waiver system? Why the difference in treatment of Adani and the country’s famers? He stressed the need to reach out to farmers, workers, and students. He said that 3 major struggles are going on in the country at present—the struggle against oppression of dalits, the struggle against killing of farmers, and the Not in My Name campaign against mob lynching. The Party sands firmly with all the 3 struggles.
