CPI(ML) District Conference in Jhunjhunu

CPI(ML) held its third District Conference in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan on the martyrdom day of Com. Charu Mazumdar, 28 July. The conference began by paying tributes to Com. Charu Mazumdar, Com. Swapan Mukherjee, Com. Zafar Hussein, Pehlu Khan and to the sacrifices made by those fighting against fascist forces for a democratic and egalitarian India.

Inaugurating the conference Polit Bureau Member Com. Prabhat Kumar said, ‘Rajasthan along with the whole country is passing through a phase of deep crisis. On the one hand the Govt. is paying little attention to the crisis being faced by farmers, but at the same time it is resorting to firing bullets on them while they protest and thousands of farmers are being forced to commit suicide. In Rajasthan attacks on women, Dalits and adivasis are becoming daily happenings.

Our own Comrade Zafar had to give up his life due to the draconian nature of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, because he dared to protest against the Municipal authorities who were harassing women living in slums in the name of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It has become clear that both the district administration and the state administration have been supporting the municipal authorities who killed Com. Zafar. Till date the main accused has not even been arrested and an atmosphere of communal hatred is being spread throughout Rajasthan. He further added that in Rajasthan CPI(ML) must stand up to and challenge the Saffron conspiracy. It must also take up the task of mobilising democratic and justice loving sections of society against the forces of communal fascism. Without fulfilling this essential task, it is not possible to fight fascism and corporate loot.

CPI(ML) Rajasthan State Secretary, Com. Mahendra Chaudhary addressed the Conference. The report was placed by Com. Phulchand Deva. The conference unanimously elected a 25-member committee. Com. Ramchandra Kulhari was elected as the District Secretary. A four-member steering committee conducted the proceeding of the conference. The observer from the State Committee Com. Shankarlal Chaudhary delivered the concluding address to the Conference.
