The CPI(ML) condemns the heinous terror attack at Gurdaspur in Punjab. The 12-hour gun battle claimed the lives of four policemen, including SP (Detective) Baljeet Singh and three civilians. CPI(ML) extends condolences to the families of all the seven victims of this attack.
The terrorist agencies behind this attack must be identified and punished.
Evidently, the intention of such attacks is to vitiate the environment for peace in the sub-continent and derail the dialogue between India and Pakistan. While condemning the terror attack, we therefore also reject the jingoism and war-mongering of the hawks and call upon the Indian Government not to allow the terror attack to succeed in derailing efforts at furthering peace and dialogue.
