CPI(ML) Liberation strongly condemns the harassment of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) Joint Secretary and All India Students' Association (AISA) leader Danish Ali and her family by the Madhya Pradesh Police. The police action is a brazen attempt to intimidate a young student leader for her role in leading the movement against paper leaks and demanding accountability in the education system.
Following the NEET protest at Jantar Mantar, where Danish Ali participated alongside AISA activists and Sonam Wangchuk, the Madhya Pradesh Police reached her village and questioned her family and local residents about her activities.
The harassment of Danish Ali is part of a wider campaign of political intimidation. She has been singled out because of her prominent role in the students' movement and because she is a Muslim woman. The BJP-RSS ecosystem has carried out a coordinated campaign of harassment and doxxing against young women who participated in the protests, making their personal information public and subjecting them to rape threats, death threats, and relentless online abuse. According to reports, a 15-year-old girl and her widowed mother were forced to leave their home after being targeted by this vicious campaign carried out by right-wing goons and amplified by sections of the mainstream media.
Responding to the police action, Danish Ali said in a video shared on social media, "The JNU Students' Union office is open 24×7 and I am always here. If you want to meet me, come here. Stop going to my village."
The use of the police to terrorise the families of student activists marks yet another dangerous escalation in the BJP regime's assault on democratic rights. Instead of answering for the collapse of the examination system and repeated paper leaks, the regime is criminalising dissent and attempting to silence the voices of students through intimidation and fear.
CPI(ML) Liberation demands an immediate end to the harassment of Danish Ali and her family. The BJP government and the RSS-backed machinery must stop their politics of intimidation, doxxing, communal targeting, and threats against young women and student activists. The democratic right to organise, protest, and demand accountability cannot be crushed through police repression.
