CPI(ML) Liberation deeply mourns the passing of Comrade R.N. Thakur, veteran leader of the Party, Bihar State General Secretary and National Secretary of the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU). He passed away on 5 July 2026 at the age of 82.
For decades, Comrade R.N. Thakur dedicated his life to the struggles of workers, peasants, and the oppressed. A committed communist and an outstanding trade union leader, he played a pivotal role in building the labour movement in Bihar and strengthening AICCTU as a fighting organisation of the working class. His unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, democratic rights, and the cause of working people earned him deep respect among comrades and the masses alike.
His passing is an irreparable loss to the Party, the trade union movement, and the democratic movement in India. His legacy will continue to inspire all those who strive for a just, equal, and democratic society.
