Gorakhpur children’s deaths are nothing short of a massacre caused by the Government. Yogi Adityanath Must Resign.

CPI(ML) Calls for All India Protests on the Eve of Independence Day, 14 August.

New Delhi, 12 August.

The whole country is shocked by the deaths of 63 children in hospital in Gorakhpur. It is a shame that as we approach 70 years of India’s independence, government hospitals are still death chambers for children of the poor. These deaths are nothing short of a massacre caused by negligence of the Government that failed to make payments to the oxygen supply company, to ensure oxygen supply in the hospital. Yogi Adityanath, a five time MP from Gorakhpur, and who is now UP Chief Minister is squarely responsible for the children’s deaths. The Central Government also has failed to pay the funds due to pay for staff salaries and equipment in the Gorakhpur Hospital.

Unconcerned about the plight of children suffering from Japanese encephalitis and being killed in government hospitals in Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath is busy coercing children in madarsas to chant Vande Mataram: this exposes how for BJP governments, healthcare and the lives of children have no priority, and priority is reserved for communal policies alone. CPIML will hold all India protests on August 14, on the eve of Independence Day, to demand resignation of Yogi Adityanath as CM and justice for the children of Gorakhpur.
