A public meeting was held at the Shaheed Smarak, Bindukhatta in the terai region of Uttarakhand addressed by Prem Singh Gehlawat, Afroz Alam, and Purushottam Sharma and Kailash Pandey. Other leaders who were scheduled to speak (BM Singh from Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan, Raju Shetty from Swabhimani Shetkari Sangathana, Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India, Rampal Jat from Kisan Mahapanchayat, R Chandrashekhar from All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha, and Gangadhar Nautiyal from Kisan Mazdoor Sabha could not attend as they were not able to arrive in time due to delay in their earlier programmes.
The meeting was presided over by Anand Negi and proceedings were conducted by Bahadur Singh Jangi. A 10-point memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Tehsildar and a warning was given that if the farmers’ demands are not met within 2 months the agitation would be further escalated and strengthened.
