Sankalp Sabha in Memory of Com Khudiram Munda

The CPI (ML) in Ranchi organized a Sankalp Sabha on 17 August 2017 on the occasion of the 5th death anniversary of Com. Khudiram Munda. Earlier, a Sankalp March was taken out from Rahe Chowk to Gomda crossing after which one minute’s silence was observed in memory of Com. Khudiram. After garlanding the statue of Bhagat Singh at the spot, the foundation was laid for a statue of Com. Khudiram and it was resolved that it would be completed by 23 March 2018.

The Sankalp Sabha was addressed by Central Committee member Com. Shubhendu Sen, comrades Bhuvaneshwar Kewat, Jagmohan Mahto and other leaders. The speakers remembered Com. Khudiram as a dedicated farmers’ leader who tirelessly worked for political movements on land issues. He was also a social reformer and struggled against casteism, communalism and for women’s rights. He propagated scientific ideas among farmers. The speakers said that in these troubled times we need to take inspiration from Communists like Com. Khudiram. The Sankalp Sabha resolv to work for the success of the Left mass rally in Ranchi on 11 November 2017 and to run an awareness campaign for it till 15 September. It was also resolved to implement the State Standing Committee’s decision to hold a Panchayat level Pad-Yatra and campaign at the zonal level for the successful conduct of the 10th Party Congress to be held in the State.
