Joint Rally against Hatred in Jaipur

The peace and justice-loving people of Jaipur held a meeting and decided to take out a rally on 3 January 2018 from Shaheed Memorial to Civil Lines against the increasing incidents of communal violence and the poison of hatred being spread by the BJP and its organizations in Rajasthan and across the country due to which many innocents have lost their lives while the culprits are being sheltered and protected by the powers that be. Accordingly, the rally was taken out on 3 January and culminated in a meeting at Civil Lines addressed by representatives from various political parties and people’s organizations. The rally however was not allowed to go through its pre-decided rally as the BJP office falls in the route. The rally was forcibly diverted to another road.

The rally was addressed by Com. Vasudev Sharma (CPI-M), Kavita Shrivastava (PUCL), Com. Ravindra Shukla (CITU), Gandhian leader Sawai Singh, independent journalist and human rights activist Bhanwar Meghvanshi, social activists Maulana Hanif and Noor Ahmad, former Tijara MLA Ayub Khan, Dr Inqualab (Jamat-e-Islami), former administrative officer Abrar Ahmad, labour leader Com. Harkesh Bugaliya, student leaders Com. Mahipal and Com. Nitin Bagdi, Manjulata (CPI (ML)), former Women’s Commission President Lad Kumari Jain and others. Other senior leaders, students and workers were present in large numbers at the meeting which was conducted by Sumitra Chopda and Nisha Sidhu. At the conclusion of the rally a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister.
