Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) District Conference

The 3rd CPI (ML) Pratapgarh District Conference was held on 30 November 2017. It was attended by 121 elected delegates from village Panchayats and cities, State Committee members comrades Phulchand Deva, Ramchandra Kulhari, Gautam Meena, Shantilal Trivedi, Saurabh Naruka, and PB member Com. Prabhat Choudhury were present. State Committee member from Udaipur District Chandradev Ola was present as observer.

The conference called for a spirited people’s struggle against the anti-people policies of the Vasundhara and Modi governments and strengthening of movements on issues of workers, farmers, students, youth and the poor. The delegates gave suggestions on how to strengthen the Party in the district and then unanimously passed the report presented by outgoing District Committee Secretary Com Mahendra Choudhury. A 17 point Resolution was passed including resolves to intensify the struggle to revoke the eviction orders of the 230 families in the Kachhi Basti behind the sugar factory who have been given notice to shift to Indira Aawas, and issue Pattas to all those who have been settled on the land for years; to resist attempts to communalise the atmosphere in Pratapgarh during festival seasons; justice for Pehlu Khan, Umar Khan and Comrade Zafar Khan and an end to lynchings and the humiliation of the poor in the name of cleanliness drive; against privatization and saffronisation of education; against gender violence; and demanding that villages in Dhariyabad tehsil should be connected to the Jakham dam and proper irrigation arrangements be made.

The conference elected a 14 member District Committee with Com Mahendra Choudhury re-elected as District Secretary.
