A joint protest by trade unions at Bokaro Steel Plant was held on 12 January against the decision of the government to sell out three special steel plants of SAIL, one of which is in Durgapur, another at Salem and the third one in Bhadrawati. The central government has already asked SEBI to search for buyers. The central trade unions are now planning more protest programmes as part of the movement against this plan.
