The CPI(ML) took out a Jan Akrosh Rally (Public Outrage Rally) on 24 November 2017 against the rampant ration loot in Morila Panchayat, Salumber. The rally culminated in a meeting at the Sub-divisional Office. Hundreds of villagers participated in the rally raising slogans against the political protection given to ration looters by the Vasundhara government, against the dire shortage of teachers in Salumber tehsil schools, and demanding implementation of NREGA, timely settlement of Indira Aawas, and other people’s issues. They marched through the Bazaar, Gandhi Chowk, Bus Stand, and reached the Sub-divisional HQ.
A CPI(ML) delegation led by Com Chandradev Ola met the Tehsildar on these issues. After talks with the Tehsildar and the police administration, Com Saurabh Naruka addressed the rally and informed the people that the license of the ration dealer against whom the complaint was made through this protest has been cancelled. A copy of the order was read out at the rally meeting. An FIR will be registered in 3 days after procuring an order from the District Supplies Officer on the basis of the Tehsildar’s report.Com Chandradev Ola said that if the administration defaults on its promise to register the FIR and distributing the remaining rations, then an even bigger gherao will be organized.
