All India Students’ Association and Revolutionary Youth Association jointly organised a march and rally in Giridih town on 15 February to demand an equitable employment policy for adivasis and to implement a domicile policy with 1932 as the base year. The march was also meant to oppose BJP Govt’s manoeuvrings of creating a social divide in the name of Employment and Domicile policies. The march was addressed by CPI(ML) MLA Rajkumar Yadav. He said that BJP has attempted to make CNT and SPT Acts ineffective through amendments, and diluted local employment policies and Land Acquisition Act. The government is repeatedly trying to attack on the rights of adivasis and at the same time creating a divide between adivasi and non-adivasi youth. The Raghuvar government’s whole policy framework is against the interests of the people of Jharkhand. The march was also addressed by RYA leader Sandip Jaiswal, CPI(ML)’s Rajesh Yadav and Rajesh Sinha, Zila Parishad member Munawar Hasan, Banti, Abhay Sahu and many others.
