Protest March Against Rape of 3-Year Old

A protest march was organized at Ranchi on 9 October 2017 against the brutal rape of 3-year old girl in Giddor Thana, Chatra district. On 6 October the girl child had gone with her father to visit the Mela. She was kidnapped from the Mela and brutally raped, and was found later in an unconscious state. The child was admitted in a serious condition at the RIMS hospital.

The protest march was taken out from Mahendra Singh Bhavan and culminated in a meeting at Albert Ekka Chowk. The speakers at the meeting said that this heinous crime comes in the ‘rarest of the rare’ category and the perpetrator should be given the strictest punishment. The speakers further said that the Modi and Raghuvar governments have failed dismally to guarantee freedom and security to women and stressed the need to strengthen the movement for women’s freedom and safety in Jharkhand.
