AISA’s Save Democracy Dharna in Assam

On 11 Nov, 2017 AISA held a sit-in demonstration at Dighalipukhuri, Guwahati against attack on democracy and demanded to make public the Nagalim framework agreement, and not to transfer land from Assam territory to the Nagaland, to withdraw the decision of handing over of oil fields in Assam to corporates, withdrawal of NSA, AFSPA. etc, immediate release of peasant leader Akhil Gogoi, to stop conspiracy of communal division in the name of NRC (National Register of Citizen). AISA leaders Dibas Bora, Farhadur Rahman, Nibir Saikia, Swapna Sarma led the demonstration. CPI(ML) leaders Balindra Saikia and Pankaj Kr. Das also addressed the protesters. A memorandum was sent to the Chief Minister of Assam on the above demands.
