In Chekapalli village of Musunuru Mandal, in Krishna district, many poor families are residing in small houses as per Survey number 328 and have been for asking house-site pattas (titles). However, the revenue department has not shown any interest in doing the same. The present Tehsildar Mr K.B. Seetharam has threatened the poor to vacate this land, which had been given to Vinobabai ‘bhoodana’ movement. Some land mafias having an eye on this land want to snatch it away from the poor and the present Tehsildar seems to be hand in glove with land mafia. AIARLA has started a hunger strike in-front of MRO office, demanding house-site pattas for the poor.
