On 28 September, the martyrdom anniversary of Shankar Guha Niyogi, the Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha took out a rally in Durg. AICCTU leaders Radhakant Sethi, Bhimrao Bagde and Brijendra Tiwari attended and addressed the rally. The rally also paid tribute to the memory of Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. A memorandum was sent to the President of India via the Tehsildar, Durg demanding a fresh enquiry into the murder of Shankar Guha Niyogi. The speakers addressing the meeting strongly condemned the anti-worker and anti-farmer policies of the Raman Singh government and expressed anger at the open flouting of labour laws and safety regulations. The meeting resolved to work towards the success of the Mahadharna to be organized in Delhi on 9, 10, and 11 November 2017 by the central trade unions including AICCTU.
