In a letter submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bihar on 21 August 2025 and also forwarded to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), ECI by the CPI(ML) Central Headquarters via email, CPIML Bihar has strongly objected to the Election Commission’s bulletin dated 21 August 2025.
The bulletin claimed that under the SIR process, no objections were filed by any political party’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) regarding the exclusion of 65 lakh voters from Bihar’s electoral rolls.
CPIML Bihar State Secretary, Kunal (SK Chaudhary), said this claim is factually incorrect. He pointed out that the process for filing objections was never made effective or transparent by the Commission. Despite several objections being raised by CPIML BLAs, these were dismissed by officials on the grounds that they were not in the “specified format” — even though no specific format was ever issued by the ECI.
On 20 August 2025, CPIML’s authorized BLA for Ara Assembly constituency (Booth No. 100), Shri Vishwakarma Paswan, formally submitted Form-6 with affidavits for two excluded voters — Shri Mintu Paswan (EPIC No. RGX0701235) and Shri Munna Paswan (EPIC No. RGX2861375) — to the local BLO. A receiving copy of this submission is with the party. Yet, the very next day’s bulletin (21 August) still reflected “zero objections” under CPIML’s column. It may be recalled that Mintu Paswan himself appeared before the Supreme Court and later at the Bihar election office, where he was assured that his objection in Bhojpur would be duly recorded. But this has not happened to date.
Another objection was also filed with the affidavit on 21 August 2025 by CPIML BLA Prashant Kumar for excluded voters at Booth No. 171 in Karakat constituency.
Kunal termed this a serious irregularity that distorts the truth and wrongly portrays CPIML and other opposition parties as inactive, despite their continuous efforts to raise objections. The party has demanded that the Election Commission immediately clarify why objections submitted with the prescribed forms and affidavits are still being shown as “zero” in official records.
