Arrest of CPI(ML) Youth Leader Sudhir Kumar Condemned as Repressive

The CPI(ML) State Secretary Kunal has strongly condemned the arrest of Comrade Sudhir Kumar, a member of the Bhojpur District Committee, calling it highly deplorable. The arrest on 6 February 2026 was carried out under the influence of sand mafias, targeting a youth leader working on issues of workers’ rights and local environmental concerns.

Comrade Kunal highlighted that labourers involved in sand mining, already on the verge of losing their livelihoods, and local residents suffering from water scarcity and ecological damage caused by unregulated mechanized mining, are being ignored. Instead of addressing the crisis, the NDA government has resorted to repression, clearly aligning itself with the interests of the sand mafia.

The party emphasized that this authoritarian crackdown will not silence the voices of struggle. CPI(ML) demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Comrade Sudhir Kumar, asserting that targeting progressive workers will only strengthen resistance movements.
