On October 14, six candidates of CPIML filed their nomination papers for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections. The candidates were Comrade Sandeep Saurav from Paliganj, Mahanand Singh from Arwal, Comrade Qayumuddin Ansari from Ara, Satyadev Ram from Darauli, Comrade Amarjeet Kushwaha from Ziradei, and Comrade Amarnath Yadav from Daraunda. More nominations will be filed in coming days with first phase nominations ending on 17 October 2025 and voting to be held on November 6.
During the nomination process, outgoing MLA Satyadev Ram of Darauli was arrested in an old protest case. Kunal, State Secretary of CPIML, strongly condemned the arrest, calling it a deliberate action carried out at the behest of the government.
CPIML demanded the immediate release of Satyadev Ram and warned that such politically motivated actions would not intimidate the party or its candidates.
