BJP‑Backed Upper‑Caste Feudal Criminals Massacre Youth from Backward Communities in Bhojpur

CPIML Member of Parliament for Ara, Comrade Sudama Prasad, has strongly condemned the brutal caste massacre carried out by BJP‑backed upper‑caste feudal elements in Laharpa village, Agiaon block, Bhojpur district (Bihar). The incident occurred on the night of 20 April. So far, three people from the Yadav and Kushwaha communities have lost their lives, while four others have been seriously injured.

On Monday, after meeting the grieving families at the Mahuli cremation ground, Comrade Sudama Prasad said that under the current BJP‑JDU regime in Bihar, the confidence of these feudal‑communal elements has reached new heights. He added that assaults on Dalits, backward communities and women continue unabated in the district. The perpetrators no longer fear the police or the law. The Laharpa attack was a premeditated massacre.

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Comrade Kunal announced that the party has called a district‑wide protest on 22 April against this atrocity. He noted that under Bihar’s so‑called “double‑engine government,” attacks on Dalits, backward communities and women have been steadily rising. This heinous act proves yet again that the BJP‑JDU alliance is staunchly anti‑Dalit, anti‑backward, anti‑Muslim and anti‑women. The BJP is conspiring to drag Bihar back to the pre‑1990s era, when massacres against dalits and marginalised communities were rampant.

The CPIML has demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and a speedy trial to ensure the harshest punishment. It further calls for Rs. 20 lakh compensation for the family of each victim and adequate security must be guaranteed to the bereaved families.

Earlier on Monday, Comrade Shiv Prakash Ranjan (MLA, Agiaon), Comrade Raju Yadav (CPIML Central Committee member), former Agiaon MLA Comrade Manoj Manzil, Bhola Yadav and several other local leaders visited the site to assess the situation and stand in solidarity with the victims’ families. They joined the protest demanding justice for the families.
