Comrade Bhadrawati Gogoi, a founding leader of the All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA) in Assam, passed away on 23 September in Dibrugarh. She was known for her resolute party work and social activism.
Comrade Bhadrawati Gogoi contested the assembly election in Dibrugarh constituency and was active in the cultural field, particularly in building Nari Santha in tea gardens. Her work with comrades like Anju Barkataky, Kanaklata, Junu Borah and Pori Mahanta since the early 1990s showcased her dedication to party women’s organizations and the social periphery. Red salute to Comrade Bhadrawati Gogoi, affectionately known as Bhadra Baideu. Her lifelong struggles and contributions will continue to inspire future generations of CPI(ML) activists in Assam and strengthen the movement for equality, justice and dignity.
