Comrade Lochan Behera passed away on 30 December at the age of 80. He had been suffering from multiple ailments. Comrade Lochan Behera was a respected leader of the Chilika fishermen community and a committed Party activist who served for a long period as a member of the Puri District Committee in Odisha. Throughout his life, he stood firmly with the struggles of fishermen and the toiling people, and played an important role in building democratic movements in the region.
