CPIML Announces ‘Badlo Sarkar, Badlo Bihar’ Campaign Amid Spiralling Lawlessness in State

In a press conference in Patna on June 10, CPI(ML) General Secretary Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya announced a major statewide political campaign titled Badlo Sarkar, Badlo Bihar (Change the Government, Transform Bihar), from 18 to 27 June across four key regions of the state. He noted that under Nitish Kumar government there is no government left in Bihar and that the people are caught in a growing web of crime and anarchy.

Com. Dipankar said that in the name of development and good governance, the ruling regime has enabled feudal oppression, and crimes against women, including rape have become disturbingly commonplace. “The people of Bihar now want liberation from this repressive regime,” he said.

The CPI(ML) leader also pointed to widespread public discontent with the Chief Minister’s recent "women's dialogue" initiative, describing it as a failure. Women from Jeevika groups, anganwadi centres, ASHA networks, mid-day meal programmes, and those trapped in microfinance debt voiced strong protests across districts, he said, highlighting the government’s disconnect from ground realities.

The upcoming campaign will span Shahabad, Magadh, Saran–Champaran, and Muzaffarpur-to-Darbhanga regions. As part of the mobilisation, CPI(ML) will hold public meetings in Magadh on 11 June (Barachatti, Gaya), 12 June (Warsaliganj), 13 June (Rajgir), and 14 June (Bihar Sharif).

CPI(ML) also announced its intention to contest 40 to 45 seats in the forthcoming assembly elections and confirmed that talks on a joint agenda and seat sharing with other Mahagathbandhan constituents will be held soon.
