The CPI(ML) Central Committee has announced its support to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Somesh Soren in the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly constituency by-election.
CPI(ML) General Secretary Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya expressed confidence that the BJP will face a decisive defeat in Ghatshila. He said that the INDIA alliance stands united in support of the JMM in this election and that the victory of Somesh Soren will represent the aspirations of the people of Ghatshila. The statement emphasized that the struggles for jal-jangal-zameen (water, forest, land) and employment cannot reach their goal without isolating the BJP politically in Jharkhand.
The people of Jharkhand have not forgotten the corruption, corporate plunder, land grab, hunger, and unemployment that marked the BJP’s “double-engine” regime. The by-election is an opportunity to deliver a strong message to the Modi government in Delhi that there is no room for the BJP in Jharkhand or Bihar.
