CPI(ML) Liberation - AIPWA Women Campaign Brigade Leads the Battle for Change in Bihar

As part of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the CPI(ML) Liberation and the All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA) had launched a Women Campaign Brigade across the state. Under the banner “Badlo Sarkar, Badlo Bihar” (Change the Government, Transform Bihar), the campaign is amplifying the voices of Bihar’s women, calling for political transformation rooted in justice, equality, and dignity.

Several teams of the Women’s Campaign Brigade, each comprising 2–3 members, have been deployed in constituencies where CPI(ML) is contesting. With songs of resistance and slogans of change, these teams are reaching out to women across villages, blocks, and small towns, organizing meetings, discussions, and choupal gatherings. They are engaging women in conversations about their struggles, rights, and collective strength to end the anti-people regime of the JDU–BJP and bring real change in Bihar.

CPI(ML) Politburo Member and AIPWA General Secretary Meena Tiwari, who is leading the one such team in Tarari Constituency said that "While the BJP is bringing leaders like Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accused of sexual harassment of women sportspersons to campaign in Bihar, the Women’s Campaign Brigade is highlighting the courage and fighting spirit of Bihar’s women."

The campaign highlights the urgent issues facing Bihar’s women — the rising tide of gender-based violence, the crushing burden of microfinance debt, the exploitation of women workers and scheme workers, and the worsening unemployment crisis that threatens the future of the state’s youth. Women are determined to end the cycle of discrimination and fraudulent policies and are calling for real change with the slogan “10 hazaar nahi, rojgar chahiye” [Not 10,000 rupees, we demand employment]. Scheme workers such as ASHA and Jeevika workers are raising their voices for recognition, proper wages, and labour rights.

Across districts, women leaders and activists of CPI(ML) and AIPWA are tirelessly working at the grassroots, turning everyday struggles into organized political action. The campaign is witnessing strong participation from rural and working-class women who are uniting to assert their rights and shape Bihar’s future.
