A joint fact-finding team comprising CPI(ML), AICCTU, AISA, AIPWA, and AILAJ visited Turkman Gate, Delhi, on January 11 to investigate the large-scale arrests and demolitions carried out in the area.
The team met with residents and families affected by the action, documenting the experiences of those directly impacted. Locals revealed that the bulldozer operation was conducted under police protection at 2 AM, targeting homes and properties. Residents emphasized that people from all communities have lived together peacefully for decades, but now innocent residents are being harassed under the pretext of a single incident.
The fact-finding team reported that minors, women, men, and entire families earning their livelihood through honest labor are being arbitrarily targeted, highlighting the repressive and unlawful nature of the government’s actions.
