Large-scale forcible eviction of Adivasis and poor farmers is being reported from Sonebhadra district, with the situation triggering growing resistance on the ground. Activists of the All India Kisan Mahasabha and CPI(ML) Liberation organised a protest march on March 31, 2026 in Madhupur. They interacted with villagers and expressed solidarity with those facing eviction, assuring them of continued support in their struggle for land rights.
CPI(ML) state secretary Comrade Sudhakar Yadav strongly condemned the eviction drive and said that the Yogi government is bulldozing the rights of poor farmers and Adivasis, forcibly taking over their fertile land and displacing them. He asserted that such actions will not be tolerated and that people will resist any attempt to snatch away their land and livelihood.
CPI(ML) has called for intensifying the struggle to secure land rights and halt all forced evictions, warning that continued repression will be met with stronger and wider resistance.
