Samta Literature Festival in Allahabad

Dedicated to the nationwide movement for equity, this festival unfolded through a series of lectures, poetry recitations, and performances of protest songs on 20 April 2026.

The program commenced with a welcome address by AISA State President, Manish Kumar. The lecture series featured Professor Pranay Krishna; Dhananjay, former JNU Students' Union President and Dr. Ramayan Ram, an academic activist dedicated to social justice. The second segment of the program featured poetry recitations by poets from various parts of the country. Participants included Laltu, Vihag Vaibhav, Poonam Vasam, Adnan Kafeel Darvesh, Priya Verma, Parag Pawan, Pooja Kumari, Sandhya Chaurasia, Ketan Yadav, Shivangi Goyal, Vasundhara Yadav, and Ajay Durjey.

Throughout the Samta Literature Festival, the atmosphere was enlivened by musical performances. Comrade Raju Ranjan (a Bhojpuri artist from Bihar), Comrade Mahua, and Comrade Akanksha presented a repertoire of songs. On this occasion, this was also decided to celebrate the Samta Literature Festival annually. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Comrade Sonali, the AISA President at Allahabad University. Hundreds of students and members of civil society attended the event. The festival was organized jointly by AISA's cultural wing 'Parivesh', the 'Jan Sanskriti Manch' (Jasam), and 'Chorus'.
