Sitamarhi Gangrape-Murder: CPIML–Insaaf Manch Announces Protest on June 16

A joint fact-finding team of the CPI(ML) and Insaaf Manch visited Chat Gora village in the Runni Saidpur constituency of Sitamarhi district on June 10 to investigate the horrific incident of gang rape, torture, and murder of an 11-year-old girl. The team met with the victim’s family and condemned the brutality inflicted upon the child.

Although arrests have been made, CPI(ML) and Insaaf Manch leaders revealed that the accused’s family members are issuing threats to the victim's family, further aggravating the trauma. With only ten Muslim families in the village, the targeted intimidation points to a communal pattern. The organisations denounced this as part of a systematic campaign of fear emboldened by the communal politics of the BJP-Nitish Kumar government.

Speaking on behalf of the team, MLA Virendra Gupta condemned the silence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the absence of any response from BJP leaders, calling it a chilling display of inhumanity and political apathy. “This crime reveals not only the collapse of law and order in Bihar but also the state’s utter disregard for the safety of minorities,” Virendra Gupta said.

The delegation included CPI(ML) MLA from Sikta Comrade Virendra Gupta, RYA National President and Insaaf Manch Bihar Vice President Aftab Alam, Niyaz Ahmad, Shatrughan Sahni (State Secretary of AIARLA), Raghuveer Yadav, Gauri Sah, and several other members.

CPI(ML) and Insaaf Manch have called for a protest in front of the District Magistrate’s office on 16 June, demanding justice for the victim and action against those shielding the accused.
