West Bengal: Left Parties Observe Ambedkar Death Anniversary and Babri Masjid Demolition Day

The marches across West Bengal pledged to resist the fascist attacks of the BJP–RSS on the Constitution and India’s pluralistic cultural fabric.

In Kolkata, the Left parties organised a mass march from Park Circus to Rajabazar.

On December 6, the death anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, and the day of the communal demolition of the Babri Masjid, Left parties across West Bengal organised programmes with a renewed resolve to intensify the struggle for a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic India. They pledged to resist the fascist attacks of the BJP–RSS on the Constitution and India’s pluralistic cultural fabric.

In Siliguri, the Left parties held a sit-in demonstration at Hasmi Chowk protesting the fascist aggression of the BJP–RSS and upholding communal harmony. CPIML State Secretary Comrade Abhijit Majumdar addressed the gathering along with other Left leaders.

In Kolkata, the Left parties organised a mass march from Park Circus to Rajabazar, sending out a strong message of communal harmony and unity against the politics of hatred and division pushed by the BJP–RSS. Thousands joined the rally carrying red flags, raising powerful slogans, and singing spirited songs.

The march culminated in a mass gathering at Rajabazar, addressed by CPIML leader Comrade Basudev Basu, CPIM State Secretary Comrade Md. Salim, and other Left leaders. They reaffirmed the commitment to defend the Constitution, uphold secularism, and strengthen people’s unity against fascist forces.
